The AI Reading Buddy

Objective - The literacy crisis in elementary schools across America has become a growing concern, with many students struggling to achieve grade-level reading skills. A lack of resources and disparities in educational opportunities contribute to this challenge. As a result, children are falling behind, which can have long-term effects on their academic and life outcomes.

Approach - Biblio targets the literacy crisis by providing a safe space to practice their reading with support and correction. The product listens to kids reading and uses AI technology to track the child’s progress and keep them learning and interested in reading.

Execution - This project included the Biblio branding system and strategy, packaging, Biblio’s paired app, and an ad campaign. The reading buddies, their copywriting, and the package shape work together to seem reliable while encouraging the comfort and imagination of kids.

App

The Biblio app allows parents to see their child’s reading progress. Biblio Buddies track learning goals, progress, reading accuracy and speed, and much more. From here, parents can see at a glance how their child is improving.

The app also provides access to books that readers might not have at home. Readers can choose to read on the iPad or have their buddy follow along with their paper book.

Ad Campaign

The Biblio ad campaign focuses on the excitement of reading, using the personalities of the three Biblio Buddies. The ads are located in areas often seen by parents, like parks, libraries, and parenting podcasts.
